Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty organises scientific conferences and seminars that allow presenting scientific research results. These events invite not only the lecturers and students from Kaunas Faculty, but also guests from foreign education institutions.

The aim of this research is to evaluate how a multicultural and multilingual society of the EU receives the idea of “knowledge society”. This priority declared by the initiators of the European Research Area enables the faculty to review traditional cooperation in the fields of social, technological sciences and humanities at Kaunas Faculty.

3 groups in the Centre for Socio-Cultural Research are concerned with the implementation of the research in humanities (philology, philosophy) on the subject of “Language and Cognition”:

•     Group for Speech Signal Processing and Experimental Phonetics (group is leaded by assoc. prof. Vytautas Rudžionis);
•     Group for Cognitive Linguistics (the group is leaded by prof. doctor habilitus Eleonora Lassan);
•     Philological research group (the group is leaded by assoc. prof. Gabija Bankauskaitė – Sereikienė)

3 groups in the Centre of Socio-Cultural Research are concerned with the implementation of research in social sciences (economics, management and business administration) on the subject of “Business Environment Factors”:

•     Group for Sustainable Development (the group is leaded by prof. dr. (HP) Dalia Štreimikienė);
•     Group for Logistic Economic Analysis (the group is leaded by prof. doc. habilitus Stasys Albinas Girdzijauskas);
