Kaunas – 142nd Best City for Students in the World
Kaunas not only has the largest number of students in Lithuania, but also offers a wide range of cultural, artistic, and sporting events. From the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University, located in the heart of Lithuania's temporary capital, it is easy to reach the branches of the Kaunas City Museum, the Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum and its five branches – the memorial houses-museums of Lithuanian writers, take a walk in Santaka Park with its renovated sports facilities or Nemuno Sala, visit Lithuania's first Science and Innovation Promotion Center “Science Island", enjoy the city panorama and sunset at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers from the Aleksotas observation deck.
The Kaunas Artists' House, located on V. Putvinskio Street, invites you to various events, and the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art offers interesting educational programmes. Those who wish to volunteer to help others are invited by Caritas of the Kaunas Archdiocese and Lithuanian Red Cross while the Kaunas Archdiocese Youth Center offers evening gatherings to get to know each other. Kaunas is also home to the Ateitininkų Sąjunga (Union of Catholic Youth), Lithuanian Scouts, Lithuanian Riflemen's Union, and many other organisations that you can join.
It is up to you to decide what the biggest adventure of your study years will be.
