A Cheerful Student-Organised Event

Students of Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty of Humanities together with pupils from certain Old Town educational institutions put Kaunas citizens in an uplifting mood by organising a colourful and loud demonstration down the Vilnius street.

The 1st year students of Cultural Management organised an event with a highly motivating title: “Today – a student, tomorrow – the President”, and organised the opening ceremony in the Kaunas Evangelical Lutheran Holy Trinity Church where the Faculty’s choir VeniGaudere(conducted by AdelėMikalkėnienė)enriched the event with their performance. The Dean of the Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kęstutis Driaunys and the President of the Students’ Representation Lukas Jakštas welcomed and encouraged the students to take on a positive and active attitude in future projects.

During the event “Today – a student, tomorrow – the President” everyone could find an interesting activity, gain knowledge and acquire information about a particular field of interest. The event included an exhibition “Digital Metamorphosis”, a creative colouring process of the Faculty’s symbol – the owl, a salsa dance session, trying out temporary tattoos, improvisation on theatre sketches and attempts to wow the audience with acting skills. Cinema aficionados could watch never before seen animated films. Water painting classes in Ebru workshops helped the participants to discover more about their character traits.

The event culminated with live performances by bard Gintarė Ružinskaitė who performed her original songs, whereas the folk group Uosinta invited everyone to join a folk dance session.
