About the speaker

Rimas Vaišnys is a Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering and of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale University. His research is largely focused on ecologic and evolutionary processes and the physics of computation. It encompasses a wide variety of techniques, taken from probability theory and statistics, discrete and computational mathematics, linear algebra, and differential equations. Professor Vaišnys is an expert in mathematical modeling and theoretical and observational techniques and is particularly interested in their application to the real world.

About the lectures

The series of lectures will explain why the computer systems currently available to us are the way that they are and what kind of computer systems we may expect in the future.

You are kindly invited to join the lectures.
