Research Ethics Compliance Committee

To ensure that research conducted in the fields represented by the Kaunas Faculty complies with research ethics, a Research Ethics Compliance Committee (hereinafter referred to as the RECC or Committee) has been established.

For Faculty researchers whose planned research involves human participants, it is recommended to contact the RECC prior to the start of the study to have their research evaluated for compliance with research ethics. The Committee does not evaluate research related to biomedicine and animals, nor does it assess the quality of the research. Researchers from other Vilnius University faculties may also submit applications if their research falls within the fields of study represented by the Kaunas Faculty. The RECC reviews applications from researchers at the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University free of charge. Applications for interdisciplinary research projects submitted by researchers from other faculties of the University that fall within the research areas coordinated by the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University are evaluated on a fee-for-service basis, in accordance with the rates and internal accounting procedures approved under the regulations of Vilnius University.
